The highlight this time around is a return of a low price on the 256GB Wi-Fi 11-inch M5 iPad Pro, which is on sale for $799.91, down from $999.00. Amazon provides an estimated delivery date around February 17 for free delivery, but Prime members should see earlier delivery dates in many cases.

There are fewer 13-inch M5 iPad Pro models on sale during this event, but you can find $150 off a few Wi-Fi models on Amazon. Prices start at $1,199.00 for the 256GB Wi-Fi 13-inch M5 iPad Pro ($100 off), and also include the 1TB Wi-Fi Nano-Texture Glass model for $1,849.00 ($150 off).

I purchased one since updating my iPad Pro Gen 4 caused it to be a bit laggy. While it was nice and fast, there wasn't much of a difference for my workflow and I ended up returning it.

if they were smart, they would differentiate the pro series by allowing it to go into Mac OS mode when docked to a keyboard or desktop dock and seamlessly switch back to iPad mode when not.

They are literally the same hardware at this point except for the touchscreen so there’s nothing stopping them. if I can get both in one device, I would buy it, otherwise it’s not that compelling as an expensive media consumption device with diminished work capabilities.

Currently debating upgrading from 4th Gen iPad Air to the 11" w/ 512GB - should be a noticeable bump. It actually is fractionally smaller and lighter than the Air.

Meh. Only difference on this thing and my M2 Pro is the screen tech and slight difference in thickness. 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage, and it's still just a glorified iPhone with delusions of grandeur. Take the reins off already, Apple.

Is fractionally worth the $$ difference? Your workflow / use should dictate what you need.
The fractional difference in the size/weight is a bonus. The leap in processing is worth it. Seeing the word ‘processing’ while editing short form videos on the air is getting old. New iPad Pro arrives Friday.

Honestly, the only thing I want from a new iPad Pro that I can’t get from the other models is the FaceID. The TouchID on my 10.5” Pro has a less than stellar hitrate. Honestly, I’d be perfectly happy if an iPad Air had FaceID… or really as a media consumption device, the base iPad with FaceID and a bit more RAM to stave off obsolescence would be perfect. From an email/youtube/Netflix/basic internet around the house or on weekend trips, even my 10.5” released in 2017 is perfectly adequate.

Just would rather not have to pay $500 more than an Air to get that one feature…

I wish this site would state "(Amazon)... American dot-com". Here in Canada, a base iPad Mini is $679... which, IIRC, I bought on Apple.ca for just over $500 almost a year ago or just over a year ago. It's gone up in price!

While I know America is Apple's bread & butter, therefore so it goes for MR, but it's a bit of a bummer to read these "lowest in history" stories. All the more a downer when Apple (Canada) emails me with trade-in for the latest Mini, then offer a piddly $350 for it.
