Apple recently updated its Move to iOS app that's designed for Android users, adding new features that make switching over from an Android to an iPhone quicker and more seamless.

Cabled data transfers using an iPhone and an Android phone with a USB-C cable or USB-C to Lightning cable are now faster, and tips for using iOS are displayed during the migration process.

Apple also says that voice recordings from Android devices will migrate to Voice Memos or Files depending on the file format, plus there's support for new languages in India. Apple's full release notes for the update are below.
  • Faster data migration using a cabled connection between your iPhone and your Android phone (USB-C or USB-C to Lightning)
  • Connect over WiFi or Personal Hotspot
  • iOS tips are now displayed during migration
  • Call history and Dual SIM labels are now migrated
  • Voice recordings are now migrated to the Voice Memos app or the Files app depending on the file format
  • New languages supported: Bangla, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu
Move to iOS is an app that Apple created to allow Android users to switch to an iPhone without losing their data, contacts, messages, and more. Android users can download Move to iOS from the Google Play store.

“REVOLUTIONARY!” Also, I encounter bugs within native iOS Apps, wasn’t there an article about Apple now being able to update native Apps independently from full iOS releases, Or am I confused?

I just recently needed some transfer capabilities....to go the other way. Enjoying the Galaxy S25 I bought.

I may come back one day when iOS is working better and there is a better assistant on board.
Samsung Smart Switch is dynamite. Photos, notes, took 45 mins but pulled it all over. I still have my 16 PM for backup. May be my daily in a couple years when Apple gets their house back in order

We don't need an iPhone Pro or Pro Max to get these faster speeds?

Knowing Apple it's artificially gated depending on what model you buy 😂

Thanks for coming to this Apple-focused forum specifically to tell us that.

Now if you'll excuse me I'm off to find an Android forum where I can tell everyone how much I do not wish to use an Android phone.
Noticed the people talking about switching to Android…

…are still holding onto their barely 6 month old $1200 iPhones.
If someone literally has both a $1200 latest generation iPhone and a $1200 latest generation Samsung Galaxy S… first of all well done, and secondly, you were obviously going to have both either way. And you’ll no doubt have an iPhone 17 Pro Max and an S26 this time next year.
The real question is, where are the people coming from iPhone 11s and moving to an Android phone for the next half decade?

There is one, right here: (Alternatives to iOS) on MacRumors!
Funny how some users here get away with Apple bashing and some don't.

Faster, not fast ;)
„This is the best iPhone we have ever created“, yeah it better be. Still it takes minutes to send WhatsApp videos on my $1k pocket computer.

How about faster restore data speed from MacOS. I got a 15ProMax which is supposed to have USB3 transfer speeds yet it still took forever from an M1 MBPro and an apple USB-c cable.

I mean, if people want to spend their time posting about how "a$$le" sucks and "Timmy" has ruined everything... I just frankly wonder what the point is. I guess it's just venting, but my god it gets incredibly tiresome to have seemingly every thread on here riddled with rants.

Good to see the improvements especially for the call history and voice recordings. Have never used the app but expecting it to perform well with all these improvements.

I was TODAY years old when I learned that ‘Move to iPhone’ doesn’t transfer RCS messages on an Android phone to a new iPhone. SMS, yes. MMS, probably. RCS? Apparently no. Or at least not reliably. And that was from a transfer done today… so LIKELY with this latest app version.

I don’t use ‘Timmy’, I refer to him as ‘Timmah’. (Everything can be referenced back to South Park.) 😁
