I mean, if people want to spend their time posting about how "a$$le" sucks and "Timmy" has ruined everything... I just frankly wonder what the point is. I guess it's just venting, but my god it gets incredibly tiresome to have seemingly every thread on here riddled with rants.
I belong to another forum where most everyone is more friendly than here. This is not the same kind of forum. We are not allowed to create our own threads. Many years ago, another Apple related forum was all about M$ bashing and the Kool-Aid thing. I have owned 2 iMac computers, 1 iPad and an ATV.
While the iPad has lasted longer than any Android tablet, I still like Android more.
I'm currently a Windows and Android tablet guy. I have a low vision friendly smart phone from the Lively company.
I have not owned a laptop since the Tandy 1400 HD. At least 30 years ago.
I like having a desktop and don't want a laptop. So desktop/tablet.
For me, that would mean iPad/Mac mini.
The Apple ecosystem is unfriendly unless you are all in.
But I'm locked into the Google ecosystem which many here love to bash.
My 32 GB iPad needs to be recycled as it is barely useful.
My Windows 10 computer is being forced out by Microsoft.
It is 10 years old. On the other side, virtually all Intel Macs will be toast pretty soon.
Linux is too confusing but pretty much lasts forever.
So while I like reading about Apple stuff here, I feel backed into a corner to go Chrome OS.
Of course the other rumors suggest Chrome OS and Android are gonna get married.
Chrome the browser may be busted up from Google.
The way I see it, everything is a mess, regardless of the company.

This won’t affect most MacRumor commenters as they are solidly in the Android camp and will not be migrating to iOS anytime soon. As you can see from the comments already posted.

How about faster restore data speed from MacOS. I got a 15ProMax which is supposed to have USB3 transfer speeds yet it still took forever from an M1 MBPro and an apple USB-c cable.
Go into system report and make sure you're getting a 10Gbps connection or you might have an issue with your cable. Sometimes even with a Thunderbolt cable it defaults to USB 2 speed because Apples software is buggy crap these days.

Ah, so now that a$$le is interested, USB works very fast... Anyway no thank you, I don't want to move into your garden.

Direct connected data migration is always welcome. Can imagine the difficulties in correct data migration between dozens of “unwalled gardens” and one apple one.

P. S. Well, exactly bc of some “davids” and “eu” we need higher walls, bigger guns and better solutions.

And yet, in 2025, iPhones still uses USB 3. Is it that hard or expensive to switch to USB 4?

Are we Really more interested in fake speed vs insuring the data integrity?

Getting a decent cable is Hard. Exactly because of the reasoning above.
