All of the LLMs are confidently wrong the whole time.
No doubt. Just try asking for accurate information about cars.

1. It refuses to give complete lists. No matter how much you ask.

2. If you keep asking for more details, it adds false information or information from years ago and still omits information you know is missing.

3. If pressed further it just claims it isn’t allowed to search all sources.

Imagine if you had an assistant that gave you short lists, then when you said you needed more information the assistant made things up or gave you outdated details, and then when you complained about it told you “yeah, I refuse to do any more.”

You would be looking for a new assistant soon enough.

It’s pretty clear AI will replace everyone sooner rather than later. I can’t believe there haven’t been massive protests yet.
It's only replacing the all fun stuff we all aspire to, like being great writers, artists, musicians, photographers, game developers or even stock traders or engineers. We'll still have our place cleaning toilets and crowd control.

“…with Google's Gemini-2.5-Pro being used to evaluate the results based on instruction compliance and technical quality.”

Am I reading this wrong, or does this state that Apple is using a google product to evaluate an apple product, making it clear that the google product is the inspiration and standard to which Apple are aspiring?

Yes, you're reading it wrong. It's a terrible name (Pico-Banana), but this is a refined "dataset", which is being validate by using a Google model.

Much of the time & cost of current models are incurred by dealing with nonsense noise. When these big models are trained on the world's Internet data, probably 80% of the text and images they scan is useless/redundant/inaccurate noise.

Apple is providing a highly-refined dataset for image model training. That's a very positive contribution.

Don't be fooled. Someone is working on a toilet-cleaning robot somewhere. Right after it's done, it will make you a sandwich.

“It’s removing the need to do anything so we can focus on doing whatever we want!”

Like… scavenging for food, I guess, since we’ll be broke.

Fun “future” 🫤

Thank you so much for clarifying and the extra info, I’m grateful.

He is mostly correct. Your standards are just much lower than his if you believe generative models meet the high end requirements of advertising and VFX. You can use them for media production but even at best they do not achieve the high bar of actual photography, actual 3D modelling, actual high end VFX.

If they did achieve that high bar you’d be paying $2000 a month. There’s no way a corporation will give you that level high end models for $200 like Google and Sora charge for the janky models they have now.
He/she did not limit it to advertising, VFX etc. He/she said "Any" and "All". Zero limitations on the statement.

Photo enhancement is ok.
Photo manipulation is not.

We already have way too much manipulation going on nowadays...

There was some evidence of mass copyright theft in connection to these models, but I guess the guy decided to struggle with himself is his own apartment Fight Club style before offing himself. Quite convenient for some.

Very interesting. I'm looking forward to learning more about it having a huge collection of photographs I've made.

Interesting to know about this. Don't know when such features will be actually available to use on Apple Intelligence on iPad/iPhone.
