Apple today announced its all-new retail store at Westfield Century City in Los Angeles, California opens Friday, November 3 at 8:00 a.m. local time.

The grand opening date coincides with iPhone X launch day. Apple said the device will be available for walk-in customers to purchase on a first come, first served basis, although in-store quantities are likely to be extremely limited.

Apple's plans to open a more spacious store at Century City were first revealed by MacRumors last month, as part of the company's ongoing efforts to modernize its chain of nearly 500 retail stores around the world.

Apple will be in a prime location at the center of the shopping mall, which has undergone a $1 billion expansion and modernization. The new store will be opposite an upcoming Rolex watch store, according to a source familiar with the matter.

Apple's current store at Century City opened in June 2005 and will permanently close after November 2. The new, larger store will provide the space needed to accommodate increased customer traffic and Today at Apple sessions.

The new store should also be based on Apple's latest retail design, including large glass doors, sequoia wood tables and shelves, a large video screen for Today at Apple sessions, and light boxes spanning the length of the ceiling.

All new Apple retail stores opened since September 2015 have been based on the updated design, including Apple's flagship Union Square location in San Francisco. Apple has also renovated over 40 existing stores with the newer look.

I work right across the street. So I'm super pumped to see this open! I know the employees are JUST as excited too. It's huge! Can't wait for it to open! I'll be waiting in line HERE if I don't get a launch day delivery.

All stores in LA are going to be a madhouse on launch day, I wonder if this one will be least crowded given it's the first day it'll be open and not as many people will know about it compared to the Grove, Pasadena, Americana, etc.

Well THANKS to this article that won't be the case.

Although I live right next to Topanga and I didn't even know the re-model had re-opened. Sooooo.... maybe, that could potentially be really good! We will see... I'm just excited to see it finally done. I walk this mall during my lunch break almost daily. So lol!

Looks like an underground walkway pictured not a street.

Psst you're not going to get 'launch day' delivery .. you may get a shipment notification for your pre-order but not a delivery. Again why "lineup" when you can order via Apple's Store app and reserve for pickup?

Why 'try to iceskate uphill' ?

Actually in the long run I have to wait... my family changed the pin on our account so I couldn't do JACK SHIZZZZ last night. All good though! I don't mind the wait, done it before, can do it again.

Good spirit!

At least visiting the store to get a sense of the feel of it in your hand. For now I suggest taken the funds you’d use to buy it and purchase Apple stock. Or something else. Make your money work for you! While you wait.

Plus you’ll eat to see how accessories look for it.

It's an open-air mall and the store is on the ground floor, usually shaded by the stories above. It'll be a lot brighter-looking when those walls are gone.

I was at the grand opening of the original Century City store. So was Gary Allen, who ran ifoapplestore.com. I still have my opening day T-shirt, so I'll wear it again Friday.

Do the stores ever have giveaways on opening days, as they used to? I suspect that they won't give an iPhone X to the first 100 customers.

Where is this new store in the mall? I know the old one is on the 2nd floor. I called mall security, they’re not allowing anyone on the property until 6am at the earliest.

Actually, the old store is on the first floor, and so is the new store. They're moving from the west side to the east side, kinda like this:

Nah no more giveaways or grab bags for the first 10/50/100 visitors to a stores grand opening. Only in China and even that is becoming scarce now. That was THE key reason for the Apple store lineups - in my opinion.

Cool you got a store **** though, I've always wanted those.

I was there for the grand opening for the Cerritos one when iPhone 4 launched. Got me a free black t-shirt and I was only there to purchase a bumper. Hope they give out a free shirt for this store. Grand opening Apple Stores aligned with launch day iPhones is magical. So many happy faces.
