i remember when my wife went to computer repair school and the teacher fortold of a time when computer companies would shift their emphasis slowly but totally to non desktop computers, perhaps small handheld gadjets...apple may take that first step

hey, woz invented the real first personal computer and now someone will be noted in history as spearheading the beginnig of the end of desktops being the dominant income stream for a company...apple switched their legal name from apple computers to apple this year

my take on this

I don't have any insider sources, and I don't know that much about the industry. What I do know is that it would be a bad idea for apple to make a PDA just like everyone else, and they know that. Apple also knows that there's the mp3 market is cluttered with dozens of mp3 players, so making just another mp3 player wouldn't be a good idea.

But it seems to me that were apple to combine the two industries (which hasn't been done yet) to create a PDA/Advanced MP3 player with a scaled down version of iTunes on it, it could do quite well. Stick in a totally revised Newton OS under a completely different name, plus an ultraslim form factor, then you've got yourself one kick-ass product.

cost wise

i am anxious but what about cost i don't want a really expensive thing i want something that is available for everyone and inexpensive
