Last time I sent anyone money through message with Apple Pay cash I paid a fee, I think it was 4% of the money I sent. Why would I do that with a large amount of money like rent?

For people whose bank uses Zelle how is this better?
It’s already in the message platform you are communicating with each other on. If they are texting you via iMessage and you need to send money, you just send it. No need for them to download an app and go set it up. Also Apple has been a very good with protecting my data, even more than some banks, Zelle is yet another bank partner who is hot now, but there was another just two years ago.

Why bother when there are much better solutions that are cross platform and far more people have.

Alas Apple Pay only seems to be limited availability
It’s been nearly eight months now, and it still has not launched in the U.K, Canada etc
It’s been available in Canada for years. It’s up to your bank to add support for it, most major banks support it now.

Needs to be out in more countries - and IMO needs to be supportable for under 18s. Would be perfect for sending my kids emergency cash if they need to get a taxi or similar.

speaking of which - would love the ability to use contactless/apple pay to withdraw cash from an ATM. sometimes only cash will do but you left your wallet/card behind.

It’s too bad they impose a fee for every transaction. Just use Venmo, it’s free.
No they don't. Never been charged a free by Apple Cash. By the way, Venmo does charge a fee if you use a credit card instead of a debit card or direct bank transfer.

Most banks have let you transfer money with just a mobile number for years. Which is a good thing since Apple hasn't bothered releasing this outside of America.
Bothered? You think they just have a button that says "release globally?"

Doing business outside the US and abiding by various international and country-specific laws isn't as easy as you think, particularly in banking. These things take time, testing, and approval. It's not even Apple's call in many cases.

That's what happens when you use a credit card. Using a debit card is free.

Do you seriously think that is the same thing with apple cash?

facetime: we had skype for year
imessage: we had whatsapp for years
apple pay : we had googlewallet for years

that's the whole point. now it is going mainstream and it's an actual feature people can use.
I had sms payments with RBC, and I didn't even use it ONCE.

Had that for years, you just use peoples phone number to transfer money to each other and to pay with in shops in Denmark.

Enter the phone number, and then the amount, boom the money is transferred. everything in its own simple app.

Any of you Americano's know if you can Apple Pay cash from an Apple Pay eligible Credit Card directly to a person bank acct? Would be nice way to pay rent and get some points vs a cheque.

The amount of people willing to converse on topics they don't understand is mind-bloggling. Yet another in this thread that couldn't be bothered with gathering correct information.
It’s happened to me the 2x I’ve sent money to someone. My test was $1 to a friend when this launched, had a 0.07 charge. I guess I just don’t understand
