surprisingly though they increased the Applecare to €45, still overall new version is cheaper.Prices are lower in Europe. The AirPods Pro 2 were €279, while the new AirPods Pro 3 are €249, a €30 reductions

another factor is somewhere they are selling this much cheaper now, it’s been 5 years lots of second hand as well.Same ... they were so "not popular" for so long and for some reason really became so.
I'm out of it on social influence, etc ... maybe some celebs or influencers got way into them at some point?
I see people wearing them at the gym, which I really don't get (heavy and shifty product for that usage)
The lack of colours really sucks. I get Apple has their legacy with iPod and all that but that era has long gone, plus all beats and AirPod max’s have colour choices, makes no senseEverything I'm hearing about the Pro 3 so far makes me quite excited to get my pre-order delivered on the 19th. It's going to be my first ever AirPod earbuds. This is a very brief review from an audio professional who did an A/B comparison of the AirPod Pro 3s with with his Pro 2s at the launch event and said that the audio quality improvement vs the 2s is significant ...
My only disappointment is that they aren't available in black. I prefer my earbuds not to shout "Apple" when I'm wearing them and white pretty much does that in my opinion. I suppose Apple does want me to shout "Apple" though so I guess I can understand the decision but I wish they'd also consider the customer in that decision or am I in the significant minority in wishing that there was a black option?
All I see are 4 reasons to buy non-Apple headphones.
APM: outdated, heavy, ugly.
APP: Instead of an XL ear tip they gave us XXS. (FU too, Tim.)
AP4: only suitable for sitting still in a quiet room.
I have the AirPods 4 with ANC and it works quite well. Better for running, too, as I don't get the thumping sound I do with in-ear canal AirPods Pro.
Haven't tried them why flying yet, but I usually just use standard foam earplugs anyway and spend the time reading.
Please check Apple site before judge…. Not only tips but new ultra-low-noise microphones… Also they changed „A new multiport acoustic architecture for deeper bass, a wider soundstage so you hear every note, and stunningly vivid vocal clarity” What everything means we’ll see when the first test will appear. Also the new tips doesn’t fit APP2No USB-C cable in the APP3 box is super super cheap behavior, especially at $249 for earbuds that are barely changed from APP2
Also, the "2x better Active Noise Cancellation" is very likely all about the foam-infused ear tips.
Put Foam tips on APP2's and you'll see what I mean right away.

Yup, and they have the audacity to do that despite the only upgrade being the change of port from lightning to USB-COnly Apple can sell Airpods Max for the same price as 5 years ago.
It’s obscene that they are essentially 5 years old and selling for the same price. The AirPods Max are looking more and more like the anomaly to me - the most expensive device in the line-up but still using the H1 chip even after Apple had the opportunity to switch to the H2 chip when it made the switch to USB-C and no attempt to address the issues than many people have with the "case" and lack of power-off button.
Does the AirPod Max have any future or does Apple think it's just not worth its while to try and compete with Sony, B&W etc for that segment of the market?
Personally I'd like an over-the-ear offering from Apple that felt like Apple was still trying to even keep up with let alone beat its competitors in that segment (price range) of the over-ears market.
Same. That kind of stuff bugs me more than it should. I wear my headphones often at work and strongly prefer a more muted or neutral color. For me that’s silver. Maybe they’re saving those colors for a future version.I wish they did the Airpod Max in white or still in silver. I had no need for them during the first release, but I could use them now. All my other devices from Apple are White or Silver so these flashy colors would just look out of place. It's a shame I can't ignore the color clash.
They did in the EU. 20€ off. That is true. Think of all the people who will be gifting the new APP3 and not realizing that it doesn't come with a charging cable. If you aren't going to include the cable, lower the price to reflect such, which Apple didn't do.
Live Translation with AirPods is not available if you are in the EU and your Apple Account Country or Region is also in the EU.
I understand why this is excusable from Apple's perspective, USB-C is on almost everything these days and so it's safe to assume most people have at least 1 somewhere in the house. That is true. I too, understand the corporate side. Apple is creating is a customer satisfaction problem. In this day and age when any thing can cause a customer to stop using your service or product, the last thing you should do is give them a compelling reason like not including a charging cable. It's like a car manufacturer not including tires with the car on the lot.I understand why this is excusable from Apple's perspective, USB-C is on almost everything these days and so it's safe to assume most people have at least 1 somewhere in the house.
Also, most AirPods users own an iPhone, which also comes with a USB-C cable, and we're in the third generation of USB-C iPhones.
So I can totally understand why Apple is doing this. It would be totally different with the Apple Watch for examplopinion,e, because who has a proprietary cable that's made specifically for the Apple Watch in their house. Even Apple Watch users who upgrade will probably give the charger to its next user.
I agree customers can get sensitive, but I really think this is a non issue. But like I said this is very different to your analogy with the tires. You need your tires to drive your car too, but a very small amount of people have spare tires that match the vehicile lying around in their house like people have USB-C cables. The cable also isn't part of the device like the tires are on the car.I too, understand the corporate side. Apple is creating is a customer satisfaction problem. Haha yeah - and if you are willing to attempt to repair stuff yourself when it breaks and not buy replacements you can keep them going even longer. (My daughter's pass me down iPhone 6S is still going... just about). I've repaired it so many times now and replaced stuff on it, that the only original part left is the Touch ID/logic board. It's getting harder and harder to do on newer devices though since they find more anti-consumer ways to discourage right to repair. If you’re willing to wait and don’t suffer from FOMO or keeping up with the latest tech you can get great deals on brand new Apple stuff. It’s especially makes sense as products get more mature as the improvements from one generation to the next are less and less impressive. My iPhone 13 Pro Max is still a pretty great that feels as snappy as ever 4 years later.
People are more likely to have a USB-C cable around (as opposed to Lightning) and even the budget variety would work to charge AirPods, but I agree it should be included. That is true. If they say 2x better active noise cancellation and it's only due to the foam tips, then that would be false advertising, in my opinion. No USB-C cable in the APP3 box is super super cheap behavior, especially at $249 for earbuds that are barely changed from APP2
