Apple's new $9 Polishing Cloth, whose changes beyond pricing were unclear yesterday, is close in size to the original but noticeably less stiff, according to a comparison posted on X.

The user says the new material feels closer to the cloth included with Apple's nano-texture displays or the Vision Pro.

Hard not to joke on this topic, but I did notice the original cloth is very stiff. There seems to be a middle layer. Maybe they took that out to cut costs.

If you look for quality cleaning cloths for lenses / glasses / screens, it's actually now a very competitive price. The very popular Koala Japanese microfiber for example costs $10-$12 at Amazon.
