Not sure if he had the same thing I did. The store came back online for a minute or two with seemingly no changes. A few minutes later, I refreshed and the new tab appeared. The non-functional “store” tab at the top left of apple.com is new.
If you go to one of the other tabs, click on buy and then click on the store tab, it seems to work. Weird.
When are they coming back on?
Apple's online Apple Store is down at the current time, and attempting to access it to make a purchase gives the standard "Be Right Back" message.

Given that it's a Tuesday night/afternoon in the United States and we're not expecting any new products this week, it's likely that this is a temporary maintenance outage that is not related to a new product release. The Apple Store app is also down at the current time.
We'll update this article when the online Apple Store is back up and functional, and we'll let MacRumors readers know if there are any notable changes.
Update: The online Apple Store is back up. Apple has re-added a "Store" tab to its main site, but that appears to be the only change, suggesting the outage was mostly a behind-the-scenes maintenance update.

In the UK you can check here: https://www.apple.com/uk/support/systemstatus/When are they coming back on?
Not liking the webpage design. Feels very old and not well laid out. Scrolling with the mouse in Safari on my Mac is really broken.
Well, a new web design to make all these new product releases easier to order LOLNothing new, from what anyone can see. Probably just maintenance for upcoming releases.
It’s been 30 years so for most it must me looking new 😜😜Yeah, gives me the feel of a 90’s website.
Just tried it and seems to be working for me. Not sure if it helps but I’m UK based and go in via SmartSpending. Only thing I can suggest is closing the browser/app down and relaunching it. If that doesn’t work, I think it’s a case of speaking to whoever supports to Apple EPP at your organisatio.Apple EPP (Employee Purchase Program) links are still down, it seems? In fact, I've not been able to access it (at least the link associated with my organisation) since the weekend. Anyone else having this issue?
Hate to break it to you, but you’re gonna have to go through Wednesday all over again tomorrow.on a Wed afternoon, afternoon CA time ... hmm ... what might be coming???
I would not say that of the current website. Whew, that’s a mess.Well, a new web design to make all these new product releases easier to order LOL
🤔🤔
They’re horrible Youtubers that talk about video exporting for the most part and using that as some sort of universal computing metric.
Haven’t checked it out to be honest… waiting for the AW7 and/or iPhone 13 pro max…I would not say that of the current website. Whew, that’s a mess.
Please let it be MacBook Pro 16". Apple: the consumers are more than ready to order the beast. Let's Go!!!

This design is pretty bad. It's very right margin biased and the way it's laid out is very odd especially with the massive white space on the left. It's weird to see the first row not even center. I'm wondering if this is intended, or Apple designers kept looking to the right. Neither would surprise me.![]()
They do this because the sad people wet their knickers when they do so. Makes then feel all warm and fuzzy.I've said it a dozen times, but I'll say it again: why in the hell does apple need to shut down their website with any product update, when ESPN is updating thousands of scores and articles real-time, all day long.
Apple is still living in the 1998 internet in that regard.
I can’t believe in 2021 they still shut down their online shop for maintenance and store changes. Do any other big company online shops still do this ?
