Apple's Pages: Command+B Doesn't BOLD; Rather, it Speaks The Text Aloud

So im typing away with Pages and am wanting to make the upcoming text bold...

however, upon holding command+B nothing happens.

When I highlight text and press command+B, the highlighted text is read aloud with that Mac Robot sounding voice.

Help? 😎

Edit: Command+I & Command+U for Italic and Underline both work...but for Bold it doesn't. Please! Any help is appreciated.
