Apple's "Photos" App freezes up intermittently

Why is Apple's "Photos" App freezing up on my Mac Mini M2, 24gb RAM with Sonoma 14.6.1? This just started a couple of weeks ago. I had to force quit the first time. Tonight it froze again. I was able to close it. I opened it again and it froze again, but only for a moment. ~gwd
