Jokes aside, what do you guys use to clean your macbook screens? My 2019 16 macbook pro screen is filthy..

Paper towel. Comes on a roll of hundreds for less than about 1 cent each. Always completely clean every time... and don't have to attach an Airtag to one out of fear of losing it.

When it needs "more," one of countless microfiber cloths previously provided free by Apple and for sale for a fraction of this price on countless websites. Those have always worked very well and do not seem to beg for something "superior" to them. Apparently those were just fine per Apple's own decision to include them for all these years.

But be warned: both paper towels and the other microfiber cloths do not have the all-important Apple logo on them... so naturally they are all inferior, won't cure cancer, deliver world peace, etc.

I recommend zeiss lens wipes, it works really well for my MacBook screen, especially you clean it only twice or a little more times a week.

Seriously, I wonder if it is any good (like, really good) at removing fingerprints etc, without the use of any kind of cleaning liquid.
That would be very useful, actually.

Also, I wonder if it is washable. (That would suit the "sustainable Apple" narrative really well).

I'm sure it's a pretty regular microfiber cloth, and that it's absolutely washable. I imagine it's similar to this cloth from Moshi that I've had for a few years, which is very good at cleaning—both dry and with a little water—and washable.

Oh my. Apple is charging $19 for a polishing cloth and it is practically sold out. Here in Brazil it costs $40. I do not think money has ever been easier for Apple.

Why not? If they can go out of stock on an Apple-branded handkerchief- which must have a dazzling profit margin- might as well roll out Apple TP, Salsa, Salad Dressings, Soups, Pie (Apple Apple Pie!), Cookies, Candies, Cereals, Tires, Motor Oil, Sanitizer, Air, Water, etc. Apparently, we'll pay just ANY price for ANY thing if Apple rolls it out as their own.
