There were no retail price increases after the imposition of tariffs. Apple ate all of them, but if you are alluding to the fact that no one who did raise retail prices due to the imposition of tariffs will return that money to retail purchasers of their products, I would say you are 100% correct.
 
Invest in APPL for the capital gains, not for its meager dividends.
Meager now, not so back in the early days. And now I mostly live on my dividends, so every uptick helps. As you said, no way would I buy Apple for dividends right now. Luckily I'm just in the 'selling shares and loving quarterly payouts' situation.
