i recently bought my macbook on august 30 about a week ago and this morning i find the rebates in the mailbox.
i have to say this is the best rebate service i have ever got in my entire life. i have to normally wait 4 to 6 weeks for my computer parts rebates and other things take about 2 to 3 weeks. but this is far by the fastest and most easiest rebates i had ever had to do. no box cutting or taping at all!

    thumbs up for apple!

It is always nice to hear some good stories and experiences of customer care and customer service and it is an area where Apple, traditionally, have had a pretty good reputation. Glad it went well for you and hope you enjoy your MB. One of the reasons I switched to Apple was the excellent customer service I received when two iPods died (both within warranty) and were replaced without any problems whatsoever.
    Cheers an good luck

I had to move before my MBP arrived....due to delays from my end, Apple's end & UPS's (the flight was canceled) end. The cost of shipping it from my old country to my new one was insane plus insurance plus possible duty! *gasp*

Apple was great, allowed me to return the machine and just order a new one from my new location. No questions asked. I am so used to getting screwed over by companies I almost couldn't believe it. By all means they didn't *have* to do it but they were totally onboard making sure I didn't get screwed in the deal. Just reminded me why I've been such a loyal Mac user for over a decade!

I got my rebates from them in 3 business days and their customer service has always been top notch. It is well worth the little extra you pay for a Mac.

Sorry chaps, but couldn't disagree more. I ordered through Apple store to get the printer rebate and then got absolutely no information about how to claim, so I sat back expecting my rebate to arrive. When it didn't, I went to the Apple store website to find out what to do and could find no information. I did a search and was directed to a page that doesn't exist. I eventually tracked down the right page and filled in my online form. I didn't get a chance to post it there and then, and checked back a few days later to confirm what proof of sale I needed. This was my first dip into the FAQ as the first time round had been very straightforward so I didn't need it. It was only then that I saw the 30 day time limit, which has by now expired.

I feel that this is very poor practice - the process has been so obscured as to make me think Apple didn't want anyone to find out how to claim. While I might expect this sort of sharp practice from a dodgy online mobile phone dealer offering too good to be true cashbacks, it is not what I expect from Apple, especially when I am spending £1200 in this transaction and have subsequently spent a further £500 on other Apple peripherals and software.

    Very unhappy.

I had to cut up my box and crap, being in Canada, I hate the fact we get treated lower than the US when it comes to these things.

For the record, I haven't heard back about my iPod Touch rebate yet, and I'm beginning to get worried.

I hope I get my rebates soon. I live in Canada, and to get my iPod I had to send my rebate to New Brunswick, which is on the other side of the country.

Hey no offence but if you sat back & just waited thats your own fault imo. When I made my purchase and it offered the iPod rebate there was all kinds of documentations online. I printed up a 2 page form that needs to be filled out and sent in. If you don't want to do it by mail you can do the rebate process either online *or* over the phone.

C'mon, anyone who has ever received a rebate knows the onus is on *you* the consumer to send in a proof of purchase and they refund your money after the fact. Perhaps they should automate it but thats the way it always seems to work. 1-800-MYAPPLE, its that easy. If you can't be bothered then you were gambling that it would just all be taken care of for you.

Since everything is up on the website, clear as day (I saw the process myself) I don't think this should reflect whatsoever on Apple's customer service. They've been nothing but the upmost help to me this whole step of the way. I probably call them too often to be honest but I know from experience (I've been burned too) that its best not to assume anything.

Consider it a lesson learned. Its only a hundred bucks, a fairly inexpensive lesson at that. ;)
