Cracked the LCD on my iPad Pro 11 tonight. How does Apple handle the repair? For $500, do they repair the screen while you wait, send it away for the job or just hand you a refurbished unit of same model? I am debating whether I should just buy a cheap iPad instead since I use it mostly for Netflix and email anyway. At least I am getting a brand new battery with new purchase. Does anyone know? Thanks!

You should just get a new iPad altogether.

In the US, they just give you a replacement which could either be new or refurbished.

I dunno what store policy is if they don't have your exact model and configuration in stock. I'm in California and I've never had an instance where the Apple Store in my area didn't have an exact replacement available for my device.

Thank you. I already made an appointment for today. Will find out in a few hours
