Apple will launch its second foldable iPhone in the second half of 2027, as part of a major shake-up of its iPhone launch strategy, according to industry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo.

According to Kuo's latest report outlining Apple's new staggered iPhone roadmap through 2027, Apple will launch its first foldable iPhone in the second half of next year, followed by a second-generation model a year later in 2027, which will be the 20th anniversary of the iPhone.

Bloomberg's Mark Gurman last month reported that Apple in 2027 plans to launch a foldable iPhone alongside a "bold" new iPhone Pro model that makes more extensive use of glass. He did not say which generation of foldable it would be.

However, Gurman had previously said he expects Apple's first book-style foldable iPhone to be released next year, so it was presumed that the "foldable version" he said is coming in 2027 would be a second iteration of that model. Kuo's latest report therefore appears to back up this interpretation.

People will buy it. They've been wanting it, but I don't want it.
The foldable phone will be my next device. It’s hard to believe that I’ve had my 15PM since September 2023. I’ve been hesitant to get excited about a new release until leaks of the foldable phone started appearing every other weekend.

I will not buy a foldable phone, absolutely 0 interest in them. If apple stops putting out a regular phone, I will switch to another manufacturer.
I will probably try one. I'm curious and always interested in new tech, provided it is done well. I have to stress the last bit, because the current crop of foldables is not good enough as far as I'm concerned. Those squishy inner screens with a fold... brrr.

The inner plastic screens are actually a lot more durable than their glass counterparts. Drop a glass and plastic coke bottle onto concrete from 1m in the air and see the difference!

Ultimately you will only ever hear from the small percentage of people with horror stories rather than the 95%+ who are happy with their product. I work in a woodshop/construction environment and have colleagues who have had no problem with theirs for years and they end up caked in dust and all sorts.

Samsung, Apple and others love the foldable concept since it would guarantee a device replacement at much higher frequency than a conventional phone.
The creasing would be a sore in the eyes of users.
And we all know that the "creasing-free” technology that supposedly was developed by Apple is just marketing, like the water-splashed iPhone near the pool ad's, but with voided warranty.

Gotta love "vaporware"! Talking about something at least two years away.

Mean while, back at the ranch, Apple appears to be failing to fulfill their advertising hype for AI that was the inducement to acquire a iPhone 16 series.

The bovine byproducts are all over the Apple campus and I wonder how the folks work there with that aroma? 🤓

Expecting to see yearly upgrades to the foldable model once it is launched. Eagerly waiting to see the first foldable from Apple.

It’s good to hear that people want something in this manner. It’s a good concept for Apple to come out with the phone. Because there is a market for it. Those are choose own it very happy. I hope you are.
