The privacy implication of this technology is concerning; I'm surprised at the lack of comment regarding it here: assuming Apple isn't installing a database of song matches on every user's device, and this has to be processed in the cloud, then a totalitarian entity could force Apple to figure out which users are listening to banned material.

Shazam is great, hardly "worthless". all my shazams are in a history, just scroll through them in the order you shammed. Seriously, this complaint of yours is confusing. Sorry it is too complicated for you. Maybe there is another app that works better for you
Not the standalone app. The control center access app/feature. There is no history of what was identified. I updated my first post for clarity. You are correct that the actual Shazam app is great.

If only it worked more than 50% of the time. Especially in crowded bars.
If it recognizes tracks 50% of the time, especially in crowded bars, that's 100% more frequently than *I* recognize the same track (or else I wouldn't be pulling out Shazaam). Perspective is important: you've got a tiny AI robot in your pocket, isn't the future great?

Funny thing, I do have Shazam icon on my control center, and for some reason, when I need to quickly identify a song, I go to spotlight, search for the Shazam app, and launch the app. I completely ignore that Control Center button.

I removed my control center button, because it has no link to the app. It keeps no history and doesn’t save to a playlist.
Even better, I don’t have any idea there’s a control Center button for it until now.
And yes, I won’t enable it Lol. Shazam app does way better.

Then Apple can remove the feature from those countries or regions, and remove shazam apps from their App Store.
But yeah, privacy Concern. Not as big as CSAM tho imo.

I love Shazam! It’s rather surprising the amount of new underground dance music it can correctly identify. Sure, the recognition process takes longer than the top 40 stuff but it still IDs about 95% of what I need to find.

Does it also automatically add tracks to Shazam Playlist on Apple Music? Shazam App has this feature, but since it doesn't sync with Control Center widget, no recognized tracks are added to the app/playlist on iOS 14
I believe if you tap the identified song within the Shazam cc icon, it will open it within the app which I think in turn can be added to Shazam playlist.

Definitely “worthless” and “too complicated” for most of us who don’t have time to fuc|< around with an app that isn’t properly developed. The control centre app should link to the full installed app to make it useful. If you can’t access search history it is utterly useless. Sticking to SoundHound until this gets fixed (because it is currently broke).

1 billion clearly proves you wrong. I know that sucks, but it’s true
