At the bottom it says:

"Testing conducted by Apple in July 2006 using preproduction Mac Pro units and shipping Power Mac G5 Quad units. Mac Pro testing conducted with a beta version of Final Cut Pro. Performance tests are conducted using specific computer systems and reflect the approximate performance of Mac Pro."

Were these xeon penryn chips available to apple as far back as that?!?

Makes you wonder whether they have the nehalem chips already and doing 'tests' with them??

No, they probably weren't available. The lead time between samples and production isn't one and half years.

The 2006 date is only on the hard drive test. Everything else has a date of December 2007 under it.
