I have a white 4s and I've had a otter box on since I got the phone the day it was released, and today I dropped it from about 3 feet off the ground on go the screen, and the bottom left of the phone got a tiny crack from it, I'm OCD about my phone. Will apple do anything?

Sure, they will offer you a replacement at a discounted cost because you dropped your phone and it broke. Don't expect a free one. Apple doesn't do that anymore.

For the cracked screen it'll be really hard to get it replaced for free. But every genius is different. Just make an appointment and maybe you'll get lucky

Purely out of curiosity, what would you LIKE them to do?

You didn't answer the question. What would you like Apple to do?

Because, by that rationale, you should be contacting Otterbox. Right?

Defender

I'd think if you're using a third party case for protection, you should rely on the case vendor to cover damages.

Along with the question should I call otter box, will they send apple a email on what happened

Apple didn't make the Otterbox. It's not their motto, and it's not their responsibility that you dropped your phone.

What's more, Otterbox's warranty specifically disclaims any responsibility for replacing broken equipment: "In addition to and without limiting the generality of the foregoing disclaimers, the limited warranty does not, under any circumstances, cover the replacement or cost of any electronic device or personal property inside or outside of the product."

So, you're SOL there, too. At best you might get Otterbox to send you a new case, but I doubt even that'll happen.

I've dropped my iPhone before and gotten a bit of damage on it. Who did I blame? Myself.

I really don't understand why you would expect Apple or Otterbox to 'do' anything. YOU are responsible for your phone; YOU dropped the phone. YOU know you can't drop the phone.

I presume it was an accident; why on earth should Apple or Otterbox pay for YOUR accident?

Take some responsibility . . . for YOUR own actions.

I have the case where you able too drop your phone without it from damaging, I've read about people contacting otter box about this same reason.

Who ever said I can't take my own responsibility? All I was asking was a simple question obv if I can get my phone repaired for cheaper than I would obv take that over paying for the price.

And did they get new iPhones out of it? Probably not, because they make no actual guarantees.

"Protect" and "make sure your iPhone never ever breaks, we guarantee it" are two very different things.

I doubt they will, but Apple will not care if they did anyways. Why is this Apple's problem at all?

Apple has a warranty available for JUST THIS SCENARIO, it's called AppleCare+, if you didn't buy it then tough luck. If you purchased AppleCare+ then you're so totally set to get a new phone, but if you didn't then you're so totally set to pay for one. End of story.

They actually did and that's the reason I was asking too see if you people had any other expirences like this. This was meant to be a heated debate on whether or not they'll do anything it was a simple question.

Who said you can't take responsibility?

YOU DID.

When you want someone else to pay for YOUR mistake/accident/issue, that is NOT taking responsibility.

That is wanting a handout.

"The iPhone 4S is everything we were hoping for and more! The Assistant "Siri" alone is totally worth protecting. Good thing we've got a Defender Series for iPhone 4S ready to keep her safe. This rugged case provides heavy duty protection from rough treatment in the worst environments. Ensure your new baby avoids scratches, dust and damage with OtterBox protection. Plus enjoy all of the cool color options we have available!"

Keyword "ensure" obv they wouldn't be leaving up to that than.

When did I ever ask for something, I asked if they could do something. Never in any of my posts did I come and say I expect apple too give me a new phone.

No, you never answered the question, after I asked it twice. However, the implication from you wanting Apple to 'do' something led me, and it certainly seems, everyone else here, to believe that you wanted Apple to fix your phone for free.

Furthermore if, from reading that off the Otterbox leads you to believe that you can DROP your iphone and have them cover the damage, I've got some ocean front property in Kansas to sell you.

I never said I wanted them to fix it for free nor did I ever mention them letting me get one for a discount price. So all of you Jump the boat to think I want them to dO something for me. Just because of allyou are beggers when it comes to apple replacing your phones or whatever doesn't mean everyone else is like that. Apple letting me get one for a discount price is more than acceptable for me. And I'm pretty sure as reliable as otter box is they can't tell you it ensures you it won't get damage and all that as there a leading case company.

Apple WILL give you a discount. They should replace your phone for $200. It will be a refurbished phone but you will walk out of the store with a like new working iPhone.
