AAAAA IIIIIII......what's the A stand for again? Will it have AI? I only want it if it has AI. AI.
There’s already a host of companies leagues ahead in that department. Insert Gemini’s world models in them and bam, we’re en route to “Companion”.I hope there is something robotic. Once Apple takes that first step we're on a fast track to a serious working robot.
I think google tried this with a low powered iPad-type with a speaker dock. If I remember correctly, it didn’t resonate with the public.I still think this should be just a base accessory for iPads, so you can get the “display” you want and let the base do the “AI things”. It could still work as a HomePod without screen and then just request an iPad when needing to show things.
Also it would lower the price and make it more interesting for people that already owns an iPad. But surely apple sales team knows better.
I personally think if it is meant as a home hub, that the difference to an iPad on the wall will be sensory data. For a home hub I would expect some sensors for temperature and similar. I think a static position will help with the user pattern prediction.I still think this should be just a base accessory for iPads, so you can get the “display” you want and let the base do the “AI things”. I was just going to say this. Can we just stop shoehorning AI into everything? So tired of AI. This sounds fine, but I could do without the AI bloat. It’s so unnecessary
In many ways you’re not wrong.I don’t like the way cars are going either—would never buy a car that phones home to tell the company where and how I’m driving. Not an issue with my rusty old ute. 😄
Interesting. I can see why that might be useful—avoiding that network of tangled cords one has to keep from touching anything hot. Overall though, I like to keep things simple and repairable.
A swiveling base ?
And people claim that Apple can't innovate /S 🙂.
For sure. They cannot even get the Home app functions to work well as it is, now they need this? No. They need to fix their crap.
Both can happen. Supposedly homeos will be a thing around the same time this comes outThey cannot even get the Home app functions to work well as it is, now they need this? No. They need to fix their crap.
This is all I can see as well 😂. Revenge of the sunfloweriMac G4 I see... no one will buy tho
Ah, you're highlighting my ignorance of other brands. 🙈😄
Okay, that makes sense now. Wait, no it doesn't. Why would someone want a ‘hub’ that is basically an iPad locked to a big paperweight? I remember when the Mac was Apple’s ‘Digital Hub’—but then iCloud eventually stole that honour.
