To be clear - the museum doesn't actually have a Rocky statue anywhere right? That's what I remember from my Philly visit, but that was like 20 years ago.
In the 80s (after Rocky III), it was at the top of the Museum steps for years.

Then outside The Spectrum (now demolished) way back in the day 90s, 00's. It was moved into storage for a few years, moved back briefly to the top of the Art Museum steps for the movie "Rocky Balboa" then finally ended up where it is now. :)

Nice. But I rather have up-to-date and correct business info. I want to navigate to a store or location by using its name, not entering a street address. Why is that not possible in Maps?

After all these years, Apple still hasn’t figured out how to add this information in a reliable way. Maps is full of outdated, wrongly located or even ghost businesses. Unbelievable.

Apple Maps biggest issue for me is the lack of a street view of sorts for anything that’s not a major city. I knew it wouldn’t come out right away, but it’s been several years now and for me personally, they aren’t close to being a replacement for Google Maps, which is a shame because I otherwise enjoy how Apple Maps in embedded into iOS. In due time, I suppose.
In Spain they have all the towns that have an easy route to reach them, even if they're just 270 people. Maybe there are some privacy laws or something in your area that makes it longer to have the imagery validated

I honestly think Apple it's a joke when it comes to maps.. While I can appreciate the details there's just no justification to have -how many employees?- to put Rocky's statue (everybody's concern in this thread) while other countries don't have an acceptable map. I'm originally from Argentina where I'm not going to enter in details when it comes to Apple Maps (useless) but been living 3 years in the UK and it's just not better. I understand some people use it here but the difference with Google Maps is just abysmal.
It's been months since I reported so many places around my area which are fake and I haven't had a single reply. Focusing on making the grass in 3D in New York City but not even showing an updated route or shops in South America countries is just not very inclusive.
I would prefer Apple Maps to be a '6' everywhere rather than a 9 in Cupertino and a 3 outside the US.
It's their strategy, I'm sure they 'know' what they are doing but come on.. Apple is not only the United States.

Ghost businesses? You obviously don't use Google Maps then. ?

Hoping Apple will add POI logos, like when arriving like at a QT you will get a QT logo and not a plain generic color
I hope they NEVER do this. The last thing I want in my life is yet another app shoving corporate advertisements down my throat. That's all a logo is - an advertisement for a company.

What? I never type a business address and rarely have problems finding what I’m looking for. Where do you live and what type of “businesses” are you searching for? ?

Philthydelphia before Pittsburgh? How insulting.

It's been 17,009 days since those clowns last won the Cup.
Well, in fairness they have a statue of Balboa, a fictional character, and not Lord Stanley. ?

If you don't mind using a separate application, Pinbox is really good for this. You can look up businesses by name and you’ll get address and phone number and you can pin multiple locations to name a few things.

This is all very pretty. But does no one here drive or are all of you happy with utterly imbecilic routings? I use a nav app for getting places.

On the "It's been months since I reported"... with classic maps providers, like TomTom/Here/TeleAtlas, it takes typically at least 18-24 months for reported errors or changes to be verified and implemented. And Apple Maps is using TomTom as map provider.

Right, that fake H&M store will remain for a few months more then ?

This is nice, but the overall functionality of Maps is still horrible. Explore vs Driving mode is the worst, I can't tell what features vanish in one mode or the other and have to constantly swap back and forth to see if what I'm looking for shows up. Sometimes it doesn't unless I zoom so far in that I lose context for where I am. Roads vanish off the map when you're not even zoomed out very far, either. And far too often I find myself looking at roads with no names on them. Zoom in, zoom out, pan around, nope, Maps is not going to show me the name of that road no matter what I do. Or put the number shield on it (if it's a route), too. It's gotten better at navigation, showing lanes for intersections is excellent, but you still cannot add an arbitrary waypoint: you have to start navigating and then request a stop given specific search criteria (food, gas, etc.) but you can't type in an address.

Can’t type in an address? What are you talking about?

While driving?

You cannot create a route to navigate that has anything but a starting point and an ending point. If you're lucky Maps might suggest more than one route but you can't make a route go by a certain location. You cannot add an arbitrary waypoint/stop to your route. The only thing you can do is, once navigation has been started (which does not necessarily mean while driving), tap to add a stop, but you cannot provide (type) an address. You can only choose a category (lunch, gas, coffee, parking, convenience, bank) and select from the locations that Maps looks up for you.

Yes you can...

"Hey Siri, directions to McDonalds (or any other specific business, or POI grouping) along my route."

"Hey Siri, directions to Fast Food along my route."

"Hey Siri, directions to a hardware store along my route."

Works every time....

CarPlay offers the preset options as you noted since those are the most common for folks driving, but you can always ask Siri to make a specific stop along your route.

Siri/Maps will then continue your route as originally selected once you have reached your waypoint.

I feel keeping it up to date all the time is nearly impossible. Especially since Apple doesn’t really encourage crowdsourced corrections. Google had a special program for that once that featured some perks for contributors. Apple should consider something like that.
Yeah, I agree. But there could still be hope.

I'll be honest I didn't know you could do that, and I only use AppleMaps.

Thanks for the tip, but Apple has to makes this feature more available and not just through Siri. I NEVER use Siri with AppleMaps. There needs to be an "Add Route Stop" button or something like it.
