Hi Guys, This is my first go at any kind of programming... I'd like to be able to open .m4v files from a specific folder on an external drive and have them open using the 'indentify' application (I've currently got .m4v files opening using identify automatically so I just have to open them and it loads using the correct app).

Whats the best way to go about this multiple times? I've looked in automator but can't seem to find anything that looks like it'll do what I need. Any help would be much appreciated!

    Thanks,
    Mark

What have you tried? What actions or code if any have you used in Automator or Applescript?

    Automator :

    1. Get Selected Finder Items or Ask for Finder Items or
      Get Selected Finder Items
    2. Open Finder Items

    or

    1. Get Selected Finder Items or Ask for Finder Items or
      Get Selected Finder Items
    2. Run Shell Script

    You can also use Services.

Hi thanks for your reply. After reading your thread I have tried 'find finder items' and have asked it to search the folder for items with extension m4v then i used 'open finder items' using identify as the app. This works perfectly! Exactly what I wanted.
    Thanks again
