Okay, Pages doesn't recognize the word dysphoria, but Dashboard and Dictionary do. There are numerous cases of this. What gives?

No, the system spellchecker has no relation to the bundled dictionary. The dictionary is entirely for human benefit.

Just hit "learn spelling."

If it's of any use or interest, you can select the word and hit cmd-ctrl-d and the definition for "dysphoria" will pop up, because this system function uses the Dictionary application's database. It's another way of checking a spelling if the system dictionary doesn't know the word. Great word, btw. I just clicked "learn" in my mental dictionary. 🙂

Thanks. 🙂 CMD-CTRL-D ROCKS!
