iPhone X Applestore holding time for a new iPhone XS

Hi

I’m spending some days at the end of September in Chicago and I was planning to buy an XS Max to pick it up when I’m there. Will the “old” policy of 21 days of hold (already paid phone) apply so I can buy it now? Thanks.
