I would like to purchase a new ATV4 - but at $200 + Taxes for the 32gb model here in Canada I am looking to find out a few things first.

1) Using unblocks (or other similar service) does it function with the new TVos?
2) Are we able to manually change DNS settings in TVos?
3) Does netflix still work in conjunction with said services?

I guess those are my main concerns.

I guess those are my main concerns.

I have mine working in Canada.

1.I use unlocator.com as it gives me more channels.

2. Yes you can manually change the DNS on the ATV4

3. And yes again Netflix will work

UnblockUS works fine on ATV4. Netflix too. I've also got my one month trial of HBO Now working great (needs a US iTunes Store account to download it, though).

One note, Siri search is in the server, so it only 'knows' about the Netflix content for the region you have set under accounts. You can switch this, but it logs you out of the App Store account. Not a big deal, because it doesn't require re-entry of login/pass to re-login, but it's still a bit of a PITA.

Basically, when I want to download new apps, I go to Settings>Accounts and click my App Store account to log in (just one click). That sets my Region to Canada.

When I'm done downloading Apps, and I want Siri unified search to check against the US Netflix catalog, I go to Settings>Accounts>Region and scroll-scroll-scroll to United States. This logs you out of the Canadian App Store (and shows you the US one).

At this point everything works fine with the region set to US. And I expect I'll do this less and less as time goes on, because I'll be downloading fewer apps after the novelty and the 'land rush' ends.

Of course I may find myself using the Siri unified search less, in which case I'd just leave the Region set to Canada (but still watch US Netflix just fine through UnblockUS).

Anybody having issues with Watchespn using a dns?

I use unlocator and getting black screen
