Appletv and lcd monitor

Has anyone connected their apple tv to and lcd monitor with any luck? I was thinking of using a hdmi to dvi adapter and i was just wondering if anyone has tried this already.

I tried looking for a 22in lcd monitor with hdmi inputs but they are at least 100 bucks more.

Connects Apple TV or other AV components with HDMI to a DVI input

if i understand this correctly i should be be able to use this cable to connect the appletv to an lcd monitor with dvi input ...

monoprice has hdmi/dvi cables for like 4 bucks

So i hooked the atv up with a cable like the ones above to a samsung lcd monitor (hdmi to dvi) and hooked the sound to a set of computer speakers ( with a sub ) and it works really well!
