can't seem to find any topic about it, so what's changed about iOS6 on the AppleTV 3?

From what I understand, nothing. It's got iOS 6 beta 1 purely for mountain lion AirPlay support afaik.

6.0 seems to change the way softsubs are displayed. The greay banner/background seems to be eliminated (thank god) but the Beta 1 displays all subs at the top of the image (I assume its a minor bug that will be fixed in the next Beta).
