I’ve had my series 7 for a year and it’s at 88% life. Is this a healthy discharge? I take care of it like a baby.

I have a Series 5 with 22 months usage and 22/7 daily usage (I wear it continuously except to charge), and I'm at 87% Battery Health.
So....there's that...anecdotally.

You have asked about iPhone battery health before. The same answer applies to the watch. There is nothing wrong.
Then explain 22 months of usage at 87%
I don't have to explain anecdotal. You asked about your watch. There is nothing wrong with your watch battery. Just like the phone, every battery is different as is each day to day usage.
I do not want to replace my Applewatch for a long long time. Don’t wish to upgrade to the series 9 and 10 when they are released. But if I was sold a weaker battery I may need to upgrade if I want water resistance in my watch.

If there was a problem with your battery, it would have been under 80% before the end of the first year, and Apple would have replaced it free.

doesn't sound concerning to me - do you have AC+? I have it for my AW and I don't fret over battery health ...

Yeah having same problem. Got my S7 on release day. Battery health is at 84%. I have AppleCare+ so I'm hoping it'll tank before November otherwise it'll cost me £99 to replace the battery, just over a quarter of what I paid for the entire device.

Really though I won't be buying another Apple Watch. It's too damn expensive, even the SE, the value proposition vs lifespan isn't particularly good and it has a whole bunch of problems with it for my use cases (craps out regularly on 30km+ hikes). Garmin might end up with some business out of this.

I've had an S4 since November 2018 and it's at 88% after 5 years. With WOS 9 it recalibrated to 94% and then returned to 88% in a week.
I have an iPhone 13 mini 90% in 8 months.

The Apple sw sucks, lately it's getting worse and worse. Or maybe the batteries suck, but I don't think so.

Do you perhaps let the battery run to completely empty often?

I usually charge the battery when it goes down to 40-50%. And never let it go below 30%. Same goes for my iPhone 13 and AW 8. Both were bought on the release date and both still have 100% battery health. Even the iPhone which is now 1,5 years old.

I believe the charging patterns are very important if the goal is to keep the battery in good shape as long as possible.

I charge at 30-40%

My Series 6 is at 83% after around 27 Months of usage. It depends on your usage patterns, environment temperature, etc… - also the decrease of battery health doesn‘t seem to be linear - at least on my iphone it isn‘t. I wouldn‘t worry about it.

What's your charging pattern like? I've had my AWU since release date and wear it 24/7. It only comes off to shower where I wash it and place it on charge whilst showering. It recovers to >90% SOC in this time 2x per day.

Maximum time on charge is 2x 15m per day.

My Battery Health is 100%.

My wife doesn't wear her watch to bed so it sits on charge all night. I've noticed these watches get quite warm whilst on-charge (likely due to wireless charging) and batteries hate heat. Her battery health is 93% after 1 year.

batteries hate cold, best temperature range for LiIon is in the low/mid 80s.
My Ultra sits on my S0 charger every other night, going from whatever percentage (seen as low as 10 and as high as 30) to 100% every night - guess what, battery health 100%.
I'm quite certain that your Ultra after 15 min of fast charge is quite warmer than my Ultra at any stage on an old S0 (5W) charger all night ...

My S7 is about 15-16 months old I guess, still at 100%. My 2017 iphone SE that I use as my Apple TV remote still at 97%. I try to keep them at 50% charge or better, never fully discharged.

When I am away from home for a couple of days, I switch off my ultra at night. When it is on charge ( using old charger from my AW6, plugged into the Time Capsule USB port) if I notice that the charge level is around 80%, I take it away and turn on battery saver. So it drops only a couple of percentage overnight. I never leave it on charger all night. I don't like to leave anything on changing when I am not awake.

Both iPhone, watch, and ipat sit on charger overnight. iPad battery is close to 100% health.
