application downloads fail to mount?

Hey friends, I could use some help!

On my brother's mac mini (PPC), downloads of applications refuse to finish! They stall at "preparing to mount," eventually ending with "Mounting failed."

How can I fix this? Thanks so much 🙂

Is this for all applications or just one? Try downloading a well-used application from apple.com/downloads to see if that works
