Hi there.

Im a new Mac user, got my Macbook Pro (loving it) 3 days ago, so please pardon me if my question is a noobish one. :)

I would like to know if its possible to delete the "shortcut" from the Application folder on the dock, but keeping the application installed. I would like to keep that folder clean and remove the less used applications.

Is there any way to do this?

Thank you in advance.

You can create your own folder and name it something like "Apps". Then create aliases of your selected apps and put the aliases in that folder. Now drag that folder to your Dock and use it instead of the full Applications folder.

You can also 2-finger click on it (left-click) and then options, then click on remove from dock. Then all of your apps should be in your applications folder.
