I recently updated iTunes to 7.7.1.11 and my 1st gen iPhone's software to version 2.0.1, and now the Applications button on the left-hand navigation pane under the Library is nowhere to be found. I have no way to manage my apps within iTunes without it. Does anyone know 1) how this could happen (other than Apple being HORRIBLE all of a sudden about releasing buggy software) and/or 2) how I can fix it (aside from reinstalling)??? I attached a screenshot. Thanks!

Thanks!

Haha, thanks!! I think I get frustrated easily these days, quick simple and easy one right there. Having apps crash constantly has been raising my iPhone anger level and lowering my corresponding tolerance level for problem solving.

I am having the same problem. I have tried using the remedy above without success. On the file tab there is no "preference" feature. On the iTunes button there is a "preference" feature but it has no place to allow for APPs

Go to File at the top, then preferences. Then click on applications to make it reappear
First time on macrumors and look forward to any help you can give.

Similar to the problem described above, the applications button on the left-hand navigation pane under the Library has disappeared. I have no way to access my apps on my iMac. I will try to attach a screen shot.

Embarrassed to say I am using a 9-10 yr old iMac running OS X El Capitan 10.11.6, although I am using iTunes 12. Using an iPhone 6 running iOS 11.1. I do plan to get a new Mac, but is there a way to remedy this problem with my current setup? Thanks.

QUOTE="hwojtek, post: 25513429, member: 155866"]Applications are gone from iTunes. Your computer is AOK, it's the fate of the iTunes application, Apple removed "Applications" from 12.7 and you're out of luck. You may, however, try to downgrade to a slightly different build as per https://lifehacker.com/apple-brings-back-ios-app-support-in-itunes-sorta-1819290924 - but there may, and probably will be, some issues with the iTunes Library.[/QUOTE]
Thanks for the quick response, hwojtek. So am I correct in understanding that Apple expects us to manage our apps ONLY on our iPhones? I had found it easier to organize, etc in iTunes.
