If you have to ask why, you'll never understand! :p
I have a deep seated hatred for that moose. You know those old Macs that acted up because 150 useless INITs from random sources somehow got installed? You know, the ones whose users would call up irate because their computers kept crashing? That damned moose was on every single one of those machines. And every last one of those users insisted that they didn't install anything that might have made the system flaky. Put two and two together, and it starts to become pretty obvious what was happening -- the moose was sneaking around in the middle of the might installing stuff! I hate that moose. Hate, hate, hate.

Nikon Scan software for my Nikon CoolScan III . Looks like this will never be updated. Have to drop in to classic to use it via a USB to SCSI adapter.

Still one better than on a Windows PC after SP2 it now wont work at all and Nikon say it wont ever fixed !!!
Ever try to see if SilverFast or Vuescan would work. But alas, you probably need a PowerMac and a SCSI card.

Remember the Easter Egg in Write Now (dozens of little stick men assembling the credits text)?

Yes, now that you remind me of it. Option-click in the "about" window. Still works in Classic!

Holiday Lights. Best holiday app ever on OS 9. There is finally a semi-replacement, MacLampsX, but it really doesn't have all the functionality of the old Holiday Lights. Worked great with the OP's snow maker application too.

Not Nikon Scan, but some OS X alternatives exist to drive those old Nikon scanners. I use the software VueScan to drive my Nikon LS-1000 under OS X via a SCSI to Firewire adapter. Another alternative is Silverfast.

i have fond memories of kid pix when i was a kid. on a black and white mac, drawing pictures then using that bomb thing to obliterate them
