Does anyone know how to get all the applications to work at one time on one single screen? Like if i wanted to use Microsoft word and safari together and not have to switch to either application:)

Not exactly sure what you mean. You can have both apps open on the same screen, you can even resize them to be side by side, but one app will be the active one while working in it ie: Word until you click on the other app to work in that ie: Safari then that will be the active app.

Either resize the windows, so you can have Safari and Word side by side (if you are typing an essay) or use CMD+TAB to quickly switch between them.

Do you mean have two apps open, each showing on one half of the screen? If that's the case, open the first app, resize/move the window. Open the 2nd app, do the same.
