I am interested in applying for a position of Mac Genius.

Does anyone have information on how the hiring process works and how long it takes?

I am aware of the 2 weeks of training for the Apple Certification in Cupertino.

Also, what kind of education background and IT background do they look for?

Thanks in advance.

Considering people who work for Apple are not allowed to post on here, I doubt you will get an excellent response.

Good luck though.

Really why not? Why can't somebody who works for apple post in a public forum?? WTF?

The Stig searched through THE RULES looking for anything that says that people who work for Apple can't post on this forum... He found nothing of the sort...

They probably aren't allowed to post on MAC public forums. . .

I can see the reasoning behind that...

As a rule from Apple. Not from macrumors?? I see... but Joe Blow working at an Apple store doesn't know anything that isn't public knowledge.

Yeah, this is a rule from Apple rather than MacRumors.

The average Joe working in a store probably doesn't know anything, but with Apple being pretty secretive in general, I guess they don't want any of their employees posting in public Mac forums.

I have gotten an e-mail from Apple on two occasions about positions at Apple stores in my area. Don't know why I would have gotten them but I did. I followed through and spoke with reps from Apple. Turned out they were for sales positions and I had hoped for creative slots. You can search for work on the Apple site and get listings for all the positions at the stores. Good luck.
