Sure, you can opt for just picking up and going.

I did that when I bought the Studio Display and Mac M1 at the Apple Store even after the store rep offered to set it up before I left...

And I did look around nervously while thinking about getting mugged for the 2 very large boxes worth $4000 with Apple logos on it while getting back to my car.

I wanted to do store pickup ideally, but store pickup for me was only available nearly a week later than the Feb 2 home delivery date, so my impatience got the better of me. That said, I'm assuming there will be instructions that hopefully clearly explains how to tell for sure if you have the right fit or not. Otherwise I might try to book a store session so they can measure and confirm that I either got the right accessories or need better-fitting ones.

Scheduled for pick up tomorrow 8 pm but I'm going Saturday instead. My day is very complicated tomorrow. I can wait another day.

I thought they needed you to do the setup in the store in order to pick the right size light seal for your head. I read there are 28 different size options, and you get one in two variations, thick and thin.

When you ordered online it took a face scan and gave you straps/light seal sizes based on that. People have been worried because they have done varies scans and gotten different results.

It's not required for them to set it up, but because of the above reasons most are wanting to ensure the fit is correct.

Right ?
Dangerous Apple Store may be in area like Oakland, CA or NYC somewhere ??
All the NYC Apple Stores are in busy shopping areas with lots of people walking around during business hours. It may be problematic to carry such a big package home via public transport, but I think if you can afford a VP, you also own a car or can afford a Uber to take you home.

So what happens to people who ordered online and the size is incorrect? I haven’t seen any information on how to rectify if the situation arises.

I'm curious about this too, since I'm getting it delivered at home. Also wondering how obvious it'll be if the fit is just a little wrong...

I know right. Mine shipped today and will be delivered on the 6th. I’m thinking if to not open the box and go to the Apple Store to get fitted, and if my size is wrong maybe they’ll have extra of the correct size or bands they can swap on the spot.

Hopefully we get some answers by tomorrow when people start trying it on.

Yours may arrive tomorrow because any shipments that arrive to KY by tonight may get to you Friday ?

By design, all Apple stores are places wealthy people spend money so none are in “bad” areas. I used to live in a “bad” area. The closest Apple stores were 30 minutes in three directions.
My place is in Jersey City. Have to jump on the PATH and go to WTC to get to my nearest store. 30 min on a good day where the stars and trains align.

I just want to pick it up and leave. The later I stay at my mall more likely chance of me getting robbed. Bad area.
Can't you just find a store in a nicer neighborhood?

And I have to suggest, if you live in a neighborhood this bad, then surely carrying around or having an AVP sitting around your apartment or house would be just as bad a choice as even carrying it out the mall.

And.. should you really spend this kind of money instead of moving to a nicer place?

There seems to be a stark mismatch between your living situation and what you're spending thousands of dollars on.

Like, I can also move to a much cheaper place and buy a decked out Mac Studio to celebrate how much money I'm going to save. But then I can't ever leave that apartment, if you know what I'm saying?!
