Dear Gamers,

. . .

Lakoo

Well said! Thank you for making an effort to get this figured out and to help get the money back to those who are losing it. Sometimes these things happen and unfortunately there are victims on all sides of the problem. I don't know what is going on, it seems like no one really does know yet; but it is good to see you standing up and pointing out what is going on.

Good luck.

Just had £25 removed from my online credit due to this scam and am not a happy bunny at all. I have contacted Apple and hope it gets sorted asap.

As someone trying my first forray into the world of Apple with an iPod touch, I am less than impressed after 2 weeks of ownership where £25 can be removed from my account whilst I am asleep.

Hummm, Tranditonal Chinese, why there are not English version? I think I will play it with my free account.

This behavior is still going on! I just had US$39.27 taken from my account yesterday. I never downloaded the app myself but when I synced my iPhone yesterday I see the app was added to my phone all by itself!

What email or phone number are you guys using to contact Apple?
Thanks,
Chris

If you had multiple apps purchased with your account, please post a list of the apps bought + developers.

This might help identify any pattern of devs using marketing companies that boost app rankings by buying with stolen accounts. Maybe we can do something to stop it happening.

Thanks!

Happened to me also...

I believe the app in question is Empire Live - I did download the app over, didn't care for it and deleted it off my iPhone. These transactions occurred well after I deleted the app. The transaction happened at 0330, so I know that it wasn't me that authorized the transaction. I have email out to Apple and Lakoo - probably spitting in the wind, but you never know. I will give Lakoo credit, they did post on these forums acknowledging a problem but we will see. I will post when I hear something.

Thanks!

That one's actually more likely to be a dodgy gamer using a stolen account to get credits in the game, so they can get into it faster (jailbreaking and downloading a pirate app I could understand, but this is pretty despicable as it's plain stealing!)

Change your itunes password fast (to something secure, preferably 8 characters and including some numbers + capitals). Apple should refund the money - you need to open the app in the app store, and use the 'report a problem' button.

still happening to new people

I just got my Itunes account hacked 8 hrs after I hooked up my New 27 Imac and put my 100$ Back to school gift card on my account. My Password was pretty secure and I use a different password for Itunes then any other Site, As a matter of Fact I even Use a Different email address as My apple Id then Normal ( Itunes account was setup when I was on a different Internet provider) So its not likely they Guessed my old email address and some off the wall password. I lost just over 87$ all to gameislive corporation limited ( Lakoo )they even ordered the same apps 2 times each so its not like they were getting a good bang for there buck if it was some guy who bought a hacked password. the Company that got paid from my account did do better.

Just had this same application download $30 of in-app purchases from my account

I have never downloaded this app or anything from this seller before, and now my account was disabled and they made this stupid purchase. I'm not from the UK either, USA here.

It doesn't make sense either as my password was 10+ characters and it was NOT a dictionary word. It was random numbers, symbols, lowercase, and capitals. I have changed it to a new password that is now 15+ characters and even more random now, so hopefully it will be secure now...but this makes me doubt iTunes or some app developer out there is stealing information.

----------

If you are in the US, go to the store and read the reviews (not just current version):

Total history of stealing money, why is it still in the store?!

HELP WITH Lakoo seller GAMEISLIVE provider

Hello Im from Mexico City, and Lakoo seller GAMEISLIVE provider stole 120pesos from my itunes credit, yesterday.... I had not come in all week or more to the App Store and I see in my mailbox a fee of 120pesos, as claimed?? Is not supposed that this does not happen with APPLE??
I HOPE THIS HAS BEEN A MISTAKE AND I MAKE UP THE BALANCE... but how do I claim it??? can you tell me??

thank u !!!!

In my second e-mail to Apple all of this was explained hence why they said they are looking into it. Nobody else has access to my iOS devices and the very least my iTunes account details to be able to have downloaded the app. But like I have said, I never even downloaded the App. If you check the reviews on the app store you can see that loads of users have never downloaded it and have had the same thing happen to them.

I've had a phone call from someone at Apple from an American Number and the girl I spoke to who I shall call CS1 basically said that they are monitoring the situation and that the the app is no longer available to download, you get a "cannot buy this item" warning. Personally, I cannot confirm this as I do NOT want to download this app in case it hasn't been pulled.

I'll post any more updates as they come in

Aaron

so how do we demand??

Dear Gamers,

We are sorry to see there are still victims in the unauthorized In-App Purchasing incident.
For the past month we have been receiving countless e-mails from victims of this incident. It appears that iTunes users have had their iTunes account hacked for making In-App Purchases in our app. After reading about the news article, we realize the hackers are selling hacked iTunes accounts online: http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20110106/tc_afp/chinaitinternetcrimeretailtaobaoapple

We have no connections with the hackers and we are also one of the victims of the incident. Since the incident started, we have been cooperating with Apple and making all refunds possible whenever a customer sends us an e-mail regarding this issue. We have made our official reply on our homepage once we were aware of the issue: http://lakoo.com/en/unauthorized-iap.html

Once again, we would like to restate that we have no connections with the hackers, all victims of this incident should first contact Apple for a refund and send us an e-mail at cs@lakoo.com so we can cooperate with Apple for your refund.

Lakoo

Anyway I sent an email to cs@lakoo.com I hope it works

THANKS !!!
