I have an imac with OSX Lion

I have two users set up both as administrators.
My wife has downloaded a number of apps on her user account and they are showing on mine also.

Is there anyway you can prevent this from happening as I dont want my desktop cluttered with Apps i do not use.
 
The recommended means of doing this is to put applications only one of you use into the user-level Applications folder for that user (create one if it doesn't exist). Then they won't show up. The downside is that you now have two separate Applications listings.
