Got my 6S last night. Backed up my 5S to iTunes. Ran a restore, apps all show up on screen, but are blacked out. Any ideas?

Same here. Tapping on the grayed out apps doesn't download them. I had to go the App store and re-download them one by one. Just put your 5S next to your new phone so you can see which apps to re-download. Took me most of the afternoon to restore them all. One other thing you might find is that your local music files won't sync over (iTunes will complain that iCloud Music Library is on, even if its not. Haven't figured out how to fix that yet)

i had this problem too, i assumed it was just me. i went to iTunes and deleted the apps and the files and then i redownload them from previous purchases then restored again, and i did it several times and it eventually worked

if u connect your 5s and click on iTunes.. device.. transfer purchases maybe that will force the apps to sync from the old iPhone to the library .

It's a bug. Make sure you get the newest iOS on your new phone BEFORE you restore from your iTunes backup. Also when it restores and is downloading apps go into settings and turn off auto lock. This procedure has worked on 4 new 6s phones

i got this issue with iTunes where my phone is getting pictures sent to other , and the diagnostic logs aren't clearing. so i assumed that is why the apps weren't syncing

Same sh$$ here. I put my phone into DFU and restored one more time it helped a lot. After you restored it, just power on and sync it. It moves apps from itunes to iphone and only after that set it up.
