apps for 8core

Are there any rumors for new apps that will work effectivelly on the new 8cores?
Adobe seems to be a candidate with CS3, what do u think?

apps such as maya (well when universal or used in windows) will be able to use as many cores / processors / rederfarms that you can throw at them, very power hungry

The OS automatically takes care of it. Any multi-threaded app will use multiple processors.

Performance doesn't go up by the same multiple, though. (i.e. 2 cores isn't 2x faster)

so why do they say that 8cores is overkill at this point?
