Is there anything that works with iwork so that i could type chemical equations and have them appear as they would in a textbook? I googled but idk if any are trustworthy or not. I also called apple and the support guy literally said "ah?".

Chemical equations are not some new kind of mysterious beast. iWork ’09 ships with MathType 6. However, any equation editor that is compatible with the suite will handle chemical equations.

iWork does not ship with MathType. MathType is a seperate program that sells for about US$100.
