No. It’ll use the plus size assets.

there might need to be adjustments for the extra real estate depending on the application but the settings to account for the notch are no different in the xs max than they were in the x.

https://developer.apple.com/iphone/

If you’ve already updated your app for iPhone X, simply build your app with the iOS 12 SDK and test in Simulator, included with Xcode 10, to make sure it looks great on iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, and iPhone XR

i made no changes to my application and it takes up the full screen in the xs max simulator just as on the iphone x.

If auto layout is being used then that’s the best thing to do.

Don’t you have to add larger assets to account for the bigger screen though? Even if it fills the screen I assume it would look a bit blurry or less sharp?

https://developer.apple.com/design/...s/icons-and-images/image-size-and-resolution/

the Xs and Xs Max use the same @3x image resources introduced with the plus models.
[doublepost=1537212082][/doublepost]i think spirit of OPs question was are we going to see issues with black bars, which were a thing when the plus models came out and the x models came out. if the app supports the layout for the X, there shouldn't be any black bars for the Xs or Xs Max.

The Plus screens are smaller though, so wouldn't the same assets look less sharp on a larger screen?

Will the apps look blurry or crisp but a bit bigger? It’s good to know we won’t have to wait for apps optimization...but it concerns me the image quality

perhaps slightly but i assume not enough to be very noticeable given that apple did not introduce a new resource size.

Xs max is supposed to use the 3x version of the assets, same as the plus model.
