When I restart my 2010 15' macbook pro (2.4 i5, 4gb ram), I open the four applications that I use the most, Safari, Mail, Adium and iTunes. I wait until all the things are loaded in the menubar etc. However, Safari can take over 30 seconds to start. It just sits there bouncing for ages. Yes, i've run the onyx cleaning tools, I've repaired permisions etc. However, the thing with this is, is that the performance is slowly degrading with time. When I first got it, Safari would open with one bounce almost always, now however there's no point in counting the bounces anymore. Why is this? Is there any way for me to get it back to normal? Same things for games actually. When I first bought it, I could play WoW (Cataclysm) on the second highest settings with no issues, now I can't even play it on the middle option, I have to have it on fair for most settings. Is this something I can do something about? Or do I just have to live with performance degradation?
