Installed the GM on my iPhone 5, works great but I have no widgets or extensions to play around with yet. Any suggestions?

Not true. Check out iHeartradio. That's the only one I know of so far.

    Here's a thread on iOS 8 enabled apps: http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1774088

iheartradio has a widget/extension. This is surprising. Generally Apple has not allowed apps that utilize new features to be released prior to the actual iOS. updates that utilize new coding for existing features, sure. But not brand new features.

I think I shall have to download the app, which I never had use for before, just to see an extension in action. thanks for the info

There's a bit of confusion happening here. iHeartradio's current app, version 5.2.0 doesn't utilize the widget or extension features of iOS 8.

What you see in Control Center (attached) is an iOS 7 feature.

Apple started allowing submissions of apps that use iOS8 APIs last Tuesday (the same day as the iPhone announcement). So they will be appearing now, so they are there when the new OS is released to the public.

I tried this about a month ago. They're not accepting any new testers - not that big of a deal, at this point. :)

The first app (I know about) in App Store updated with Handoff support and a widget in your Notification Center:

Let's keep this thread updated with all new apps that take advantage of the exciting new features in iOS 8 ;)
