    not justify as such...
but that you use a lot..
im looking for some fun games,
    neat utilities,
    and just everyday use apps.
if you have any apps that you really enjoy,
or use a lot, please post..:)
    - and make sure these arent iphone only apps.. just saying.

P.S. i know there have been countless threads on this topic,
so please spare the flaming and move on if thats what you wanna do.

I'll bite, even though your thread title is a bit ... confused. =D
I have an iPhone versus an iPod Touch, but these are the apps that I cannot live without.

    Pandora
    Discover mobile
    Progressive mobile
    AT&T MyWireless
    TextFree
    Wolfram Alpha
    The Weather Channel
    Shazam
    ...
and Doodle Jump. Guilty pleasure. :)

If you're looking for good games, I'd recommend these:
    DoodleJump
    Boost 3D
    Robot Unicorn Attack
Sonic 1 & 2 (if you grew up with them and have a sentimental attachment like me)
    Flight Control
    Osmos

I use my iPod Touch for all multimedia entertainment and fun stuff. That leaves my iPhone 4 free for productivity and business on the road.... :)

i would highly recommend not performing banking on the touch at remote locations using unknown wifi nodes, either completely open or starbucks sign in types.

even having banking information, especially as it relates to specific app using the specific serial of the device as an identifier.

Back when I had the iPod touch, I used it mostly as a media player. Some apps I thought made it even more worth the price:

    1. iBooks
    2. Pulse
    3. Google Earth
    4. Google Mobile app
    5. Yelp
    6. Urbanspoon
    7. QuickOffice
    8. Dropbox
    9. Pandora
