Add the trails app to the list of apps that are using the built in GPS of the Apple Watch 2. It allows you to choose on the watch whether you're tracking via phone or watch. Then, you can choose your type of activity. Walking, hiking, running, many many options.
Also tracked my ascent and decent during my walk. Also allowed me to save waypoints. Saved as a workout in HealthKit.

Certainly a better implementation than any I've see so far.

To top it off, you can export the Gpx and then send it off to Strava or Garmin or wherever.

Nice nice app. Check it out.

I just use mine for notifications now.

Only think it's a matter of time before it goes in its box and goes up for sale.

So what's the deal with AW Apps development? 6 months later and the scene is almost the same as it was one year ago...

Just an update on Things:

I'm in the Test Flight betas for Things and the latest beta release (for the upcoming 3.1.4 release) now finally implements full background app refresh support on the watch app, with a minimum requirement of watchOS 3. This is a huge usability improvement, because previously you often had to wait for it to complete a sync after opening the app, but now it's kept in sync in the background, so there's no longer any pause after opening it.

And still most of the watchOS apps haven’t been updated to watchOS 3 or have just been deleted from the store....

For those based in London I learned at the weekend that Bus Checker's app works without your iPhone. UI was quite good as well. Was able to see local bus stops and see the departure board for any one of them, all on my watch

Edit: Heartwatch is the current winner of heart complications. Although no third party ones are as good at keeping refreshed as the apple one.

Pedometer is the best steps taken one I have found. Configurable steps per day to go green.

Air matters is great. (We don’t get air quality in the apple complication in Australia)

Is that Cardogram? I didn’t know they had updated the app for the new S4 watch faces. It looks similar to Heartwatch complications.

Is there any application that shows both the temperature and the weather condition in the same corner complication... I feel like using one to know the condition and one to know the temp is wasting complication space...

Also is there a ressource somewhere to keep track of the apps that have been updated with series 4 complication support?
