iOS Apps with scoreboard must be rated 17+ ?

I am willing to add a online scoreboard to my application, but I heard that this kind of applications must be rated 17+ as users could use offensive words as their nicknames, is it true?

I've downloaded games with scoreboards and no age restriction.
