This thread is a testament to how poor the office apps to date are. OfficeHD, while imperfect, is the cheapest. Only really good for basic stuff.
We just have to hope that the power of competition, together with the passage of time, will get us to a better place. I have purchased both Documents To Go and Quickoffice HD and both have their strengths and weaknesses but, due to the weaknesses, I don't find either entirley satisfactory.

I keep both apps installed on my iPad though, so that I can see updates as soon as the appear on the App Store, and I'm hoping that as both companies implement each other's best bits and add new stuff to try and leapfrog the competition, that solid feature-rich apps will result.

Sadly right now the rate of significant feature updates from both companies is discouragingly slow.

If only I could put D2G into QO's creamy blue shell...

QuickOffice would get my attention if only they made the text less fuzzy and got rid of the annoying bouncing zoom on select. If you ask them about missing features or things that look a bit off, they tell you to vote for your most desired tweaks on their website. If they can't see what's crap without my help I doubt voting will have much effect.

Visitors From Mir. Not only is it a crappy game, but it's mostly broken, and the developer's email address is bogus.
When I complained to Apple, they did something unexpected - they refunded my 99 cents.

Things - lackluster for an expensive app
Real Racing - games should be fun. This isn't. Other racing games are better. Overhyped.
Pulse - overhyped. Reeder does the job well.
BeeJiveIM - I feel remorse on buying this even after owning IM+ (Universal). BeeJive is awesome in the iPhone but lags behind IM+ if its for the big screen of the iPad.

SimCity. I paid $2.99 for it, and they removed it from the store and I can't download it anymore and I reinstalled iOS 4.0 on my iPod. Thieves. I can't get my money back either.

ReelDirector and Wormhole Remote.

I think ReelDirector is a great app, but knowing that iMovie will probably eventually make it to the iPad just makes the whole thing kind of pointless. Plus I can't seem to get it to import my 720p Motion JPEGs so it kind of defeats the fun of it.

Wormhole Remote is a piece of crap. The server app was buggy as hell, and caused tons of problems. I should have thought twice about it, I didn't even need an app like that anyway.

Things. Terrible app in comparison to others out there and Cultured Code are just oblivious to what their customers want. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Maybe the Osmosis game that came out. Can't remember what I paid for that. Osforoosa twitter app. Not sure what it does for me that Twitteriffic (free) didn't--but somehow I got sucked in.

Any first person shooter game. Like Nova. Not really an indictment on the game, but rather suitability of said games on the iPad. I've already got an Xbox 360--what was I thinking?

Apps that totally do not suck: Reeder, Guardian Eyewitness, Galycon Fusion, Civilization Revolution . . eh I don't have the others in front of me.

I like Things, but I also use it on my iPhone and iMac. Love the synchronization, and I probably don't need advanced features. Would like more integration with contacts and iCal, though.

I regret buying Worms HD.

I regret buying:

Pages - not worth $10

1400+dinosaurs - horrible graphics not HD

Sticky notes - does not work like the PC one. Notes do not 'stick' anywhere on the iPad. Total waste.

Flash cards - this is so bad, nothing like flash cards. Too big and the results are awful. Another waste of money

And last but not least since I am sure I will have more-

The writers nook - just another note taker. Should be free!

Just about every app I've bought, I end up not using. I don't know why. I'll just buy anything that looks useful and then forget about it.

Numbers $9.99

I can double that... found out that locally stored files are not optimal... have all my files on Google Docs now and i'm still looking for a numbers-like way to edit them comfortably (already bought lots of apps for that, all are crap).

None. I do my research before I even go anywhere near the purchase button for an app, especially on the ipad considering how expensive some of the apps are.

Got to say I do the same. I'm not much of an impulse buyer so I tend to sit and think if I really know of a purpose for the App before I purchase it.

I regret nothing! :D

This is a good thread. Regret buying Real Racing HD. nice game but for 9.99 don't play it that much.
