Is any announcement going down on April 1st? Haven't heard much or in fact anything this week. Was the analyst last week right, not media event ... announcement?

Unfortunately, it is looking that way...

I'm still keeping my fingers crossed though.

It's so hard not to post a "US APPLE STORE DOWN !!!!!!!11!!!" thread. But I hate to overdo the April Fool's Joke thing. 🙄

Someone already beat you to it. I believe it's rotting in the wasteland.

Well, now that April first is over, I think I will predict that nothing will happen.

Not necessarily.

Just as a refresher to those who don't know. April 1, 1997 was Apple's 20th birthday/anniversary. That year they released the Twentieth Anniversary Mac. That machine wasn't introduced until May of 1997, a full month after apple celebrated their birthday/anniversary. So, something will probably happen within the next 2 months.

EDIT: Changed to 1997. Wow, I could have sworn it was in '96. Why in the heck would they release the thing a YEAR after the anniversary?! This doesn't look good for everyone hoping for something for the big 3-0.

Just as a refresher to those who don't know. April 1, 1996 was Apple's 20th birthday/anniversary. That year they released the Twentieth Anniversary Mac. That machine wasn't introduced until May of 1996, a full month after apple celebrated their birthday/anniversary. So, something will probably happen within the next 2 months.

By May of 1996 I hope you mean 1997, the TAM was launched in May of 1997 over 1 year after the official birthday date. It was discontinued a year later.

So lets hold out some hope, for the next couple of years 😀

Edit: After reading closer you did mean 1996.

Well for me it was very disappointing that Apple did not even acknowledge anything with regard to their Aniversary on their webpage or media... Maybe something this week...

That's a good point actually - it just needed a fancy pic for their rotation.
