My current goal is 45 min of exercise a day so does this mean just do 90 min or do I need to change my goal to 90 min? I did 103 min yesterday and it still says I have completed 0 days. Sorry if this is a dumb questions. I’m new to actually trying to get the monthly challenges.
To count the effort, the Fitness app needs the data from an app that reports 'exercise' data to the Apple Health app. Some apps don't feed data, and some only do if you go into the actual app on the iPhone. I use Strava as a repository of my activities, for example, and it seems to only feed data if I open it, and then open the Fitness app on my iPhone. It updates almost immediately once Fitness is open, but if I forget, I 'lose' the day.
Did that make sense/help?
Oh, 90 minutes? If you want to do the minimum, 45 minutes is all you are likely to need. Some apps, and possibly the Fitness app itself have conditions on what counts as 'activity'. Supposedly, if your heart rate isn't elevated past a certain point, it doesn't count. I ride bikes, and often ride indoors and have noticed that if I do a really (really) light ride, some part of that time is not counted as an 'activity'. It's likely judged to be 'background noise' and not part of the actual activity. ie: I would do an hour ride, and get credit for around 50 minutes of 'activity', not the full 60.
One benefit of the new update for the Apple Watch is that it will show the status of your activity rings so you can judge how much more 'activity' you need to get the day.
